"Having a back to climb on is often the only safety one can have. The darkness of sky and water become one. The figures have that same darkness in them also. We can find ourselves so much a part of the environment that we can lose sight of where our bodies end and the space around us begins. Once you discover this predicament, it is often too late to escape. We long for outside forces to come to our rescue," said Philemona Williamson in discussion of "Slow Current."
