"Breakfast of champions. The title of this painting evokes Kurt Vonnegut and the breakfast cereal Wheaties. I swap them out for Fruit Loops, which are much more fun to paint. These narwhal finger puppets were stocking stuffers 20 years ago, and I have painted them in many different scenarios since then. Sadly, they stopped making them a number of years ago, and I can no longer find them online. The narwhal tusks present a great opportunity for a surreal game of ring toss. There is so much color and movement, but the composition is really about the V-shaped wedge created by the fruit loops and the boards. My intention is to keep the eye contained and moving downwards. I loved working on this painting, and I hope it engages the viewer and makes them smile." - Fraser
