Flash’s Cross-Colour Series, utilizing a unique technique for developing the images on negative paper, challenges the traditional narratives of identity, the politics of skin pigmentation, and gender representation. Working with a 4×5 large format camera, Flash's twentieth-century portraiture style centers those frequently marginalized, engaging those who are frequently rendered invisible. Recently, Flash has expanded into digital photography, continuing to explore and push the boundaries of visual representation.
